Talk abstract:

The ELIXIR infrastructure is currently building bio.tools, a registry of bioinformatics tools and data services. The aim of this registry is to provide the scientific community with a portal to enable the discovery and the use of the resources needed to conduct bioinformatics analyses. This registry includes detailed description of the tools and services, which relies, among other things, on the use of the EDAM ontology, a community-led vocabulary that has been developed to describe in a consistent manner bioinformatics data and methods. I will here present this effort, and detail the perspectives of collaboration of bio.tools with other initiatives to improve the discovery, deployment, integration and reproducibility of bioinformatics resources.
